My Birthday!

Today was my 40th birthday... I got up relatively early in the day to the sound of a lot of hammering. I was aware that they were laying down new carpets in our hallway and stairs, which is nice.... but not too nice to awake to. Jordan arrived with a beautiful card. A few incoming calls later I started getting ready for the manicure ritual. A drive to Belleville with Michelle, where Koreans make your nails look real pretty! Michelle and I bought a few articles of clothing at a store near by, since there was a sale! Then off to the mall we went. I bought a skirt and some underwear. ... Apparently we were done our spree way too soon... (too soon for what? you may ask??..) Michelle wanted to stop for a Burger, Tim Hortons, toilet paper at the grocery store,,, anything that would hold us up till around 8:30! ... Then 8:25 she wanted to go for a quick drink at Rumours... I begged to go home so that we could powder up and get into our new clothes before going out.... "Ohhh, we'll just go for one, then we'll go change,,, then we'll go back with bells on!" she says..... Once we walked in the door, there was no turning back... It became apparent to me that there was a surprise party going on. So much fuss, just for me! Only a few were there, so I guess we were too early (perhaps Michelle should have driven slower than the 20km/hr which I noted, on the highway!) Lona was there... and via being curious about her presence, Michelle finally told me of the planned surprise. June came next and on and on... Jordan was working, but came over afterwards with Devin... I didn't buy a drink,, what with staff being present, also strangers heard wind and started buying drinks... People are generally sweet, especially when they've had a few beers, as we all know! It was an enjoyable day with terrific friends and I am one to really cherish my friends! I have a special one lately, to whom I'd like to thank for her efforts in arranging all this, inclusive with an excellent pudding cake... She's the best! Thanks Nutbar Michelle!!!
I'd half expected my parents to be there... however I still anticipate their safe arrival home from the south some day soon!
